A Proven Winner & Elite Developer of Talent
JR Blount arrives in San Diego after five seasons on T.J. Otzelberger's staff at Iowa State, where he was the defensive architect behind one of college basketball's most remarkable turnarounds. A Milwaukee native, Dominican High School alum, and former Loyola Chicago captain, Blount brings 16 years of coaching experience and a relentless commitment to player development.

Head Coach — San Diego
Named the 15th head coach in program history. The new era begins.
A Milwaukee native and Dominican High School graduate, Coach Blount earned his B.A. from Loyola Chicago and his M.A. in Education from UW-Stevens Point. He and his wife Ashley have three daughters — Maya, Zuri, and Gema.
